Mission Statement
Goal
By following the examples of Jesus Christ, the ministry of Cherokee Village United Methodist Church will help people:
Form a committed relationship with God.
Come to know one another as a part of the Family of God.
Form a loving/caring relationship with other people.
Emphasis
Strengthen existing, and create new ways in which our people can experience fellowship and come to know one another as a part of the Family of God.
Objectives
The Cherokee Village United Methodist Church will:
Develop leaders who communicate a vision of expectancy and hope regarding the future. (Romans 15:13)
Spiritually nurture people through worship services and other events. (Acts 2:42)
Create a climate of Christian love and acceptance within the Church. (John 13:34-35)
Involve large numbers of members in carrying out the ministry of Christ. (I
Cor. 12:4-9)
Encourage people outside the church to experience a life-changing connection with Jesus Christ. (Mark 1:17)
Enthusiastically receive and consecrate new people into church life. (Acts 2:47)
Provide Sunday School and other groups, offer Bible studies and promote spiritual growth opportunities and as we strive to meet personal social needs. (Eph. 4:12-14)
Teach members how to develop a life of prayer. (Luke 11:1)
Encourage members to develop sacrificial stewardship in the areas of financial, time and/or talent resources. (I
Cor. 12:4-7)
Reach out to heal the pains, ease the suffering and meet the needs of people in the church, the community and throughout the world. (Matthew 25:40)
